NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans updated its residents on the latest regarding its severed relationship with French Quarter Management District, which momentary stopped its “Blue Light” security patrols.
The Director of Strategic Initiatives Joshua Cox met the media on behalf of Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s office on Friday.
“On Monday we told you that there was a mess,” admitted Cox. “The French Quarter Management District promised to keep the blue-light patrols that everyone loves in the quarter, going with private dollars from January to at least March. They failed to do that.
“We told you we are doing everything in our power to fix that,” he continued. “Today, I’m happy to say we’ve done that.”
According to Cox, the patrols will be scouring the French Quarter again starting at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28.
