ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. (WGNO) – Troubled incumbent Dave Peralta barely showed in the St. Bernard Parish president race Saturday. Peralta came in fifth place in a seven-candidate primary election.

The race will move to a runoff between democrat Wayne J. Landry and no party candidate Guy McInnis.

  • Wayne J. Landry took 32% of the vote.
  • Guy McInnis took 27% of the vote.

In August, a grand jury indicted Peralta on stalking, malfeasance in office, obstruction of justice and other charges. Peralta made headlines for the past three years for an alleged attack on his now ex-wife.
