New Orleans, LA (WGNO)—The Algiers/Canal St. Ferry will extend operating hours on Monday, July 4th for the Independence Day celebration and fireworks on the river, with the last trip departing from Canal St. at 10:15 p.m.
Due to the fireworks display on the Mississippi River, service on the Algiers/Canal St. Ferry will be suspended from 9:00 p.m. until approximately 9:20 p.m. The Riverfront Streetcar Line will close at 9:00 p.m. for the rest of the evening.
The Algiers/Canal St. Ferry’s normal operating schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. will resume on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
The Lower Algiers/Chalmette Ferry will operate from 6:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. on July 4th.
