Grab the kiddos! Ice skating returns to the Audubon Zoo

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s time once again to head to the Audubon Zoo for kiddie ice skating this holiday season.

It’s part of the zoo’s Snofari Adventure celebration and is open to the public from December 26 through December 31.

Truth be told, parents and their youngsters will not be skating on actual ice. It’s synthetic ice made from high-tech plastic.

The rink will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. near the Capital One Performance Pavilion beneath the majestic oaks at Audubon Zoo. The rink has a capacity of about 35 people.

Skates will be available for no additional fee. Skaters cannot bring their own skates.

Skating tickets can be purchased at the zoo entrance for $5 for zoo members and $7 for non zoo members. Ticket sales close at 2:30 p.m.

There will be a D.J. on hand spinning classic Christmas music, and a giant sleigh will be available for family photos. Children can enjoy holiday themed inflatables.
