NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Once again people are at odds over what to do with the section of Audubon Park called, “The Fly”.

Carrollton Boosters intend to build a four million dollar sports complex in that section by the Mississippi River.

The new complex would allow more kids to play sports like soccer and baseball.

But some people are saying they don’t want the open area to be replaced with a fenced sports complex and parking lot.

A petition on change.org already has more than 3,000 signatures.

Members of the “Save the Fly” will have their say Wednesday at the City Council hearing that’s open to the public.
