How art, film, and architecture blend… into a crime spree!

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The area along St. Claude Avenue is becoming hipper and cooler by the day.  You can stand on almost any corner along the street and see the ongoing revival.

Now some of the cooler businesses along the corridor are hoping police can help catch a robber.

According to the NOPD, on March 30, a man robbed the Indywood Film Studio in the 3400 block of St. Claude.  That same day, they say the same man also robbed a nearby art studio in the 1400 block of Montegut.  The next day, they say the man targeted an architectural construction business also on Montegut, near St. Claude.

When we began investigating, we found people who said there were other victims in the area.

According to police, the robber used a silver and black pistol and pointed it at all of his victims.  The man wore dark pants and a hoodie while covering his face with a white cloth.  Detectives released a photo of the man.  We know it’s not great, but if you know the guy, you might recognize him in the photo.

We also spoke with one of the victims.  He said the robber pointed a gun at his head and chest at point-blank range while demanding money.
