MANDEVILLE, LA (WGNO) — The weather could not have been better on Friday (Oct. 28) for the 2016 Crescent City Corporate Championship golf tournament.  The event was hosted by Blessey Marine Services and benefits Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans.

About 300 golfers took their best swings at the two 18-hole courses at Beau Chene Country Club.  The event raised about $200,000.

Junior Achievement provides K-12 programs to help prepare young people for the working world as well as entrepreneurship and financial literacy.  In the New Orleans area, the group helps more than 30,000 kids every year in the classroom as well as at after school and summer camps.

During Friday’s tournament, golfers also received a Nike shirt, hat and balls as well as a $100 gift certificate to the NikeTown store.
