Darren Sharper sentencing for rape charges rescheduled

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Former Saint Darren Sharper’s sentencing for rape charges has been pushed back to October 15.
Friday, his lawyer was tied up in federal court and requested a continuance.
Sharper pleaded guilty in June, agreeing to accept a 20-year sentence. He may only serve 9 years in prison though because of a plea deal worked out after he pleaded guilty to rape charges in other states.
He also pleaded guilty to federal drug charges. His alleged accomplices, former Saint Bernard Parish Deputy Brandon Licciardi and Erik Nunez have hearings next month, September 15.

October 15th rescheduled. Sharper did not appear. His lawyer was tied up in federal court and requested a continuance. That was granted.

Judge Karen Herman is in the courtroom. They are currently dealing with other cases. Former Saint Darren Sharper is not in the courtroom yet.
