NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana Workforce Commission released information this week suggesting more people are going back to work.
During this week last year nearly 80,000 new unemployment claims were filed. This time it was just under 10,000. Total continued claims have decreased drastically as well.
This time last year nearly a quarter of a million people continued to file for assistance.
This week a little more than 50,000 people are continually getting unemployment assistance.
