New Orleans lost one of our most electrifying musicians today with the passing of percussionist Alfred “Uganda” Roberts, Jr.
Roberts’ wife Linda said that he’d recently battled lung cancer.
Roberts’ career spanned decades, playing with many of the greats including Professor Longhair.
Uganda Roberts was 77.
