NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department began investigating a deadly shooting in Algiers on Saturday.

According to NOPD, the shooting happened in the 3400 block of Garden Oaks.

Reports show a 32-year-old man suffered from a single gunshot wound inside his apartment.

EMS pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

On Monday, May 2, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Rashad Quinn. The preliminary cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound.

Police said there were two individuals detained for questioning. The investigation into the incident remained active and ongoing. No additional information is currently available.
