Brad Pitt’s ‘Make It Right’ group suing building supplies company

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Make It Right, the group founded by Brad Pitt to help neighbors return to new, high-tech homes in the Lower Ninth Ward after Hurricane Katrina, is suing one of the companies that supplied wood products for construction.

According to the lawsuit, the wood was used primarily for the construction of decks, railings, and decorative trim.  In its lawsuit, Make It Right claims the wood’s manufacturer, “repeated misrepresentations, breaches of warranty and knowing deceptions,” of the product.

In the lawsuit, Make It Right claims the wood that came with a 40 year warranty is showing signs of decay.

WGNO News reached out to the manufacturer, TimberSIL, for comment, but was unable to get an immediate response.

Make It Right is seeking compensation for damages, attorneys fees, and legal penalties.
