NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The owners of the Red Stove Food Truck say the truck was found Friday morning, August 5, in a wooded area in Algiers. The truck was last seen on July 9 when it was parked behind the Algiers Discount Store in the 3500 block of General Meyer Avenue. The theft was the topic of a recent Wheel of Justice report.  The owners provided WGNO with the photos for our reports. According to the truck’s owners, an NOFD firefighter found the truck.  But it was severely damaged.  The owners say the truck has been stripped of its stove, vent, and other equipment. Much of what remains was vandalized. But the owners are determined to repair the truck and get it back in service, providing gyros and other Mediterranean food favorites around the city’s hospitals and other hot spots.  We’ll let you know when and where you can find the truck once it’s rolling again!
