UPDATE: 14-year-old’s body found in Ponchatoula woods. Deputies ask if anyone recognizes tattoo

UPDATE 7/2/21, 6:00 PM: Police have identified the body of the unknown female to be Taysia Folse, 14, a runaway from the New Orleans area.

TPSO authorities report that Folse’s body was found Wednesday evening in a secluded wooded area by a driver who was passing the area, who noticed what appeared to be a “lifeless body lying in a grassy area.”

There were no signs of physical trauma to her body and a cause of death has yet to be determined.

Police continue to seek information that will help piece together the last moments of Folse’s life. PONCHATOULA, La. — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying the body of an unknown female found East of Ponchatoula.

The female is believed to be approximately 5’6 with a medium-large build. She also has a tattoo on her left forearm of two jester masks with a script that reads “Smile Now, Cry Later.”
