July 14 Update: WGNO spoke with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office just after noon on Wednesday.
Captain Jason Rivarde of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said an autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, but reports from the lab are still a week or two away.
Capt. Rivarde reiterated an earlier report that foul play does not appear to be the cause of death.
METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported a body found in the canal near the intersection of West Napoleon Avenue and David Drive early Monday evening.
WGNO was on the scene and JPSO officials say the body is male and at this time there seem to be no signs of trauma.
This is an ongoing investigation and WGNO will have more as further information becomes available.
