KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Thursday night, Ed Lewis and other members of his group called Ride of the Brotherhood returned to Armstrong International after a long flight back from Vietnam.
The group is dedicated to locate and bring home the remains of any U.S. soldiers still in Vietnam.
During the trip, the group specifically helped with the search for a mass grave. Members say they also uncovered new leads to find other MIAs.
In all, Lewis says his group investigated five possible locations of troops’ remains.
“Every American that served this country has a right to be brought home. In some cases, we’re looking at anywhere from 40 to 50 years since that soldier has set foot on this soil,” Lewis told WGNO News shortly after his plane touched down in Kenner.
Lewis says there’s more research to do here before returning to Vietnam and working on a plan with Vietnamese officials to begin any sites identified as strong possibilities for body locations.
