NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)  – The deteriorating former Six Flags park has sat empty and largely unused for the last ten years. Now its future has sparked a dispute between the mayor’s office and Industrial Development Board.

On Tuesday, officials with the Industrial Development Board said if Mayor Mitch Landrieu doesn’t take responsibility for the park, the board should sell or auction off the land, NOLA.com reports.

Six Flags New Orleans was abandoned after Hurricane Katrina and all projects to renovate the site have ended in dead ends.  The park, however, has played a significant role in several movie productions like Jurassic World.

We want to know your thoughts! Should the board sell the former Six Flags park and what do you want to see there? Comment on WGNO’s Facebook page.
