Xavier University reopens after early morning bomb threat

UPDATE – NOPD gave the all clear around midday. Campus returned to normal business operations immediately after. 


NEW ORLEANS – Parts of Xavier University have been evacuated after a bomb threat.

The Xavier Student Government Association announced the evacuation just after 10:15 a.m.

“IMPORTANT: XULA is evacuating all buildings on the South side of campus near Jefferson Davis Pkwy due to a bomb threat,” the tweet reads. “Everyone us to avoid this area until further notice. Listen for instructions from university officials/local authorities and follow them quickly and carefully.”
