Senior historian Mark Cave has been researching Tennessee Williams for decades.

“And it’s also so popular all over the world that in many ways it helped create people’s perception of what New Orleans is.”

The oscar-winning performance is a permanent part of pop culture.

“he initially had it set in Atlanta Ga., with the main character ralph, who was an Irish immigrant

Fate brought it to New Orleans back then, and to Royal street in 2022.

“I think it would be a wonderful day for people just to come into it and explore how this important American work was created and then go home and watch the movie.”
