GRAND ISLE, La. (WGNO) — The Coast Guard medevaced two men and is searching for another after a boat hit a rig near Grand Isle.
The Coast Guard reported that watchstanders received a report of a boat taking on water with two men on the boat and another who had fallen overboard.
Coast Guard officials said an aircrew and response boat were then dispatched to the scene to medevac the two men on the boat and search for the man who had fallen overboard.
According to the Coast Guard, the aircrew was unable to find the third man during the initial search.
The two men were taken to a New Orleans hospital and last reported to be conscious and responsive.
They said a response boat crew is searching for the missing man, and “Future search plans include a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew, an Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144 aircrew and the Coast Guard Cutter Tigershark.”
