KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Officers with the Kenner Police Department are giving residents a heads-up about an upcoming training with the Kenner Fire Department on Thursday, May 9.

In a social media post, the KPD reported that residents may notice an increased police presence, smoke, sirens and loud noises in the area as part of the training.

The post states the training simulates real-life scenarios and “is a crucial step in preparing our first responders to handle emergencies effectively and instill confidence in our capabilities.”

The training will take place in Kenner, and traffic will not be affected.
