KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Leaders with OnPath Federal Credit Union announced that a new branch will be built in Kenner.

The location will mark the first time the 63-year-old credit union will have a location in northwest Jefferson Parish, according to OnPath.

“We believe that opening a branch in the heart of Kenner represents a natural step forward in expanding banking accessibility for our growing number of Hispanic members and communities, while also granting all members greater fee-free access to funds,” said OnPath’s President and CEO Jared Freeman.

Credit union leaders said their mission is to serve the underbanked as a part of their Hispanic community outreach. They add that the location will play a critical part in increasing access to funds, financial literacy and access to homeownership within a growing community.

“This site embodies a goal we’ve long pursued, reinforcing our dedication to the communities that we serve,” said Freeman.

The Kenner branch will be marked as OnPath’s 11th location across New Orleans, in addition to an OnPath ATM located at 1340 Poydras St. in New Orleans. There are also three locations on the Northshore in Mandeville, Slidell and Covington, three on the Southshore in Harahan, Mid-City and Uptown New Orleans, three on the Westbank in Harvey, Algiers and Westwego and a branch in Thibodaux.

OnPath leaders say they anticipate an opening date to be in early 2025.
