On January 17, the Lafourche Coroner’s Office released the names of the two people killed in this helicopter crash.
The pilot has been identified as 31-year-old Dylan Horn, from Panama City, Florida.
The sole passenger on the flight has been identified as 51-year-old Dana Burt, from Kaplan, Louisiana.
Both men were killed when the helicopter crashed near the west side of the South Lafourche Levee System and became submerged in the marsh.

GALLIANO, La. (WGNO) — The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating a helicopter crash late Friday morning.
Around 11:30, Sheriff Craig Webre announced on Facebook that deputies had responded to a report of the crash near the west side of the South Lafourche Levee System.
Parish President Archie Chaisson provided more details surrounding the crash in a press conference on Friday afternoon.
Chaisson revealed authorities were unable to immediately locate the aircraft, which prompted a search and rescue mission.
Around 2:45 p.m. the helicopter was located in a marsh near Grand Bayou. Authorities concluded the aircraft had nosedived and then sunk into the mud.
The majority of the helicopter was reportedly submerged in the marsh when crews located the aircraft.
The aircraft belonged to Rotocraft Leasing Company (RLC LLC). According to the United States Coast Guard, records from company personnel confirmed the helicopter matched one carrying two passengers — a pilot and a passenger.
The two were presumed dead following the crash, however, no bodies had yet been recovered.
LPSO says the crash was reported by a concerned citizen. Authorities continue to investigate the helicopter crash.
