BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Louisiana families who get food assistance can get free or reduced admission to museums using their EBT card.

Plan a fun outing this summer and stay nearby or take a daycation using the Museums for All national program. Using an EBT card and a photo ID, up to four people can get free to $3 admission to see thousands of museums across the U.S.

According to the website, the LSU Museum of Art and Knock Knock Children’s Museum are two facilities in Baton Rouge that participate in the program.

The LSU Museum of Art is at 100 Lafayette Street on the Fifth Floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts. It shows new exhibits throughout the year, including paintings, photography, sculptures and decorative arts.

If you have a family with small kids, the Knock Knock Children’s Museum on Dalrymple Drive has fun interactive educational exhibits.

Once you’ve visited the Baton Rouge locations, take a drive over to New Orleans or Lafayette with the family to visit more participating institutions.

New Orleans options include the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans, Louisiana Children’s Museum and Longue Vue House and Gardens.

The Children’s Museum of Acadiana in Lafayette is another day trip option.
