NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for New Orleans R&B legend Clarence “Frogman” Henry.
The New Orleans great was known for his distinctive voice.
He rose to fame in the 1950s with the song “I Ain’t Got No Home.” From there, he went on to tour with the Beatles on their first tour after opening for the group’s performance in City Park.
His career went on for six decades. Henry was slated to play at 2024 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
According to Henry’s daughter, his health had been in decline for several years and had recently had surgery.
Henry died on April 8 at the age of 87.
The funeral is set to happen on Saturday, April 20 at L.B. Landry High School. The viewing will begin at 8 a.m. with the service starting at 10 a.m.
