NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is headed to Washington D.C. to participate in the Yale Mayors College and Chief Executive Leadership Institute.
From Tuesday, March 5 to Wednesday, March 6, Cantrell, along with 150 global chief executive officers and police figures, will attend a caucus themed “The Secondary Business Effects of the Primary Election Season: Lessons on Guiding Investor, Workforce, Customer, & Community Harmony.”
Attendees of the 10th annual invitation-only event will hear from United States National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in an “off-the-record” candid dialogue about global challenges in communities.
During her trip, Cantrell will take part in a panel discussion on “How Mayors Guide Communities Through Electoral Season.” Joining her in the discussion are:
- New York City Mayor Eric Adams
- Lincoln, Nebraska Mayor Leiron Gaylor Baird
- Louisville, Kentucky Mayor Craig Greenberg
- Albuquerque, New Mexico Mayor Tim Keller
- Santa Rosa, California Mayor Natalie Rogers
Additional discussions at the caucus will focus on innovation, creation, and revival of economic development in cities, protecting community harmony through ways of public safety surrounding elections, and cyber and infrastructure reliability.
Upon Cantrell’s return home, she will continue the “Meeting Our People Where They Are” initiative consisting of school visits, and update residents on the City’s “Dirty Dozen” blighted property remediation list.
