NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans has distinguished itself in the culinary world, appearing three times on the James Beard Award nominations that were released on Wednesday, April 3.
The James Beard Foundation announced the finalists for its restaurant and chef 2024 awards. Here are the categories where New Orleans showed up:
Best New Restaurant
- Dakar NOLA, 3814 Magazine St.
Outstanding Bar
- Jewel of the South, 1026 St. Louis St.
Best Chef South
- Arvinder Vilkhu, of Saffron, 4128 Magazine St.
Winners will be celebrated at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 10 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
