NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill signed a “historic” public safety partnership on Monday, Feb. 5.

In a social media post, Murrill said the signed cooperative endeavor agreement will allow her office to “prosecute any criminal matters in Orleans Parish that result from an arrest or investigation conducted by the Louisiana State Police or any law enforcement agencies working under the direction of or in cooperation with the Louisiana State Police.”

According to Murrill’s website, the partnership was originally announced in November.

“We’re executing the cooperative endeavor agreement to reboot New Orleans and make sure that New Orleans is safe for all of our people, the people who live there and the people who visit there,” said Murrill.
