NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Restaurant Week gives chefs the opportunity to showcase the flavors of their restaurants while getting creative with dishes. Osteria Lupo is highlighting its northern Italian cuisine, fresh pasta program and Gulf seafood.
Brian Burns is the chef and owner of the restaurant located on Magazine Street.
For Restaurant Week, they’re offering a family-style tasting menu for $65 per person. The whole table has to partake.
“If you come in with four people, you’re going to end up with about a dozen dishes. So, you really get a full sampling of what we do here,” said Burns.
He demonstrated two dishes that will be on the tasting menu, including a goat cheese mezza luna with blistered cherry tomatoes, dill and capers. He also showcased the seared sea scallops with corn succotash and crispy basil
“So for Restaurant Week, it provides an opportunity for guests to really explore the menu,” said Burns. “We create a package where based on the size of the table, you’re going to get a number of dishes that kind of represent what the kitchen’s most excited about going into this new summer season, where we got a lot of great additions to the menu in terms of local seafood and local produce.”
“I love this restaurant because part of the energy is captured in the community,” added Burns. “Like, you come in here on a Friday or Saturday night, it’s going to be people walking in, stopping at tables as they’re kind of going around. It’s really fun to be a part of the community where people know one another.”
Osteria Lupo is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., now offering their new brunch menu.
