NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department report a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a van in New Orleans East on Monday, Feb. 12.
NOPD officials said officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Alcee Fortier Boulevard around 6:29 p.m.
There, police said they found an unresponsive man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
NOPD investigators said a van driving west on Chef Menteur Highway hit the pedestrian at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Alcee Fortier Boulevard.
According to the NOPD, “The driver of the van is cooperating with the investigation.”
The NOPD did not release any additional information.
