NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans’ Wednesday at the Square concert series has been listed in USA Today’s Top 10 Best Outdoor Concert Series in the United States.
The 10-week event made the seventh spot on the list just between North Carolina and Colorado.
Officials with the Young Leadership Council, makers of the series, described the event as a “dynamic” series that “brings together music lovers, local artists and the community, for an unforgettable series of performances.”
YLC officials said the list is a prestigious accolade that highlights their commitment to providing an “exceptional” live music experience in the heart of New Orleans.
“We appreciate and thank everyone who has supported Wednesday at the Square over the years,” said YLC Executive Director Allison Hotard.
The event is free and open to the public at Lafayette Square, with vendors selling food, drinks and merchandise. All proceeds support YLC community projects.
The 2024 series included artists such as The Brass-A-Holics, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Flagboy Giz, TBC Brass Band, Jelly Joseph and more. The impact of the series brings on average 4,5000 attendees and 35 food and craft vendors each week.
“We’re looking forward to another season of amazing performances, great company, and the unique atmosphere that makes Wednesday at the Square a standout event,” said Hotard.
