PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Plaquemines Port Harbor and Terminal District is getting $18 million to rebuild the Pointe a La Hache Ferry Ramp.

Plaquemines Port officials said the $18 million grant comes from the Federal Transit Administration and will provide the funds needed to complete the project.

They said Plaquemines Port is one of eight public transportation providers nationwide to receive funding from the FTA’s Public Transportation Emergency Relief Program.

According to Plaquemines Port officials, the program was designed to assist with recovery efforts from natural disasters like hurricanes that happened in 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
