ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving a car that went over the Chalmette Ferry landing on Saturday, March 16.

Sheriff James Pohlmann said deputies responded to a call around 2:22 a.m. about a pickup truck driving off the Chalmette Ferry landing and into the Mississippi River.

SBSO officials said the ferry remains temporarily closed.

This is an ongoing investigation.
