This St. Charles Parish park is getting a $500K upgrade

ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department announced that Valero has donated $500,000 for upgrades to the East Bank Bridge Park.

The donation was announced at a check presentation ceremony on May, 22.

Department officials say the donated money will go toward the development of two new turf fields, tennis courts, two pickleball courts and LED lighting.

“The East Bank Bridge Park has been a staple in our community for more than 30 years, and we are thrilled to bring upgrades to the park that will improve the overall quality of life for all St. Charles Parish residents,” said St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Director Duane Foret.

St. Charles Parish President Matthew Jewell said he is excited for residents to enjoy the new “state-of-the-art” upgrades coming to the East Bank.

Parish officials said the project is nearly complete and is expected to go out for bid early this Fall.
