COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — St. Tammany Parish officials announce long-time parish councilman Steve Stefancik has died.

Stefancik had represented District 11 in the Slidell area since 1988. People who live in his district know he was all about improving infrastructure.

Stefancik was a Navy veteran as well as a former high school teacher and employee at Lockheed Martin.
