SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — The Slidell Police Department is investigating the drowning of a 15-year-old boy.
The incident took place Saturday, May 18, at 4:40 p.m.
Slidell police officers say they received a call about a possible drowning at Palm Lake.
Authorities say minutes prior, a 15-year-old male jumped into the lake to get an item, but never resurfaced.
St. Tammany Fire District 1 and the Slidell Police Department’s Dive Team were dispatched to the lake for rescue efforts.
Officers were able to locate the teen, however, he was pronounced dead at the scene due to drowning.
Foul play is not suspected at this time.
