STPSO: Victim’s body found in car after gunshots heard in Abita Nursery subdivision

COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — On Monday, the St.Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating an incident that had a body found in a vehicle in the Abita Nursery subdivision.

According to STPSO, around 2:45 p.m. STPSO deputies were dispatched to the area of Pansy and Progress Streets in reference to gunshots being heard.

When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to reports.

On Tuesday, May 3, the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Kawon Moore of Covington. The preliminary cause of his death has been listed as apparent gunshot wounds.
