HOUMA, La. (WGNO) — A police officer in Houma should add “reptile wrangler” to his resume after catching an alligator and python in the same week.
On Sunday, Donald Aubrey responded to a call of a “very large snake” in a home’s backyard. He safely captured the animal.
The Houma Police Department guessed that the snake likely escaped from its owner. It was put into the custody of Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries for a scientific study.
Then, on Wednesday, the HPD reported a small alligator paid a visit to Upper Little Caillou Elementary School.
Aubrey was called in, and again, he safely captured the gator and released it back into the wild.
No one was harmed in either instance.
