UPDATE: Man found shot in vehicle in New Iberia, dies

UPDATE: 3/1/23 9:30 P.M.: According to Police Spokesperson Sgt. Daesha Hughes, the unidentified victim died Wednesday.

He was in a car with four other people, including a juvenile, when he was discovered by police and transported to a local hospital.

A suspect, Jatavist Markal “Latay” Reedom, has been identified and is being sought, Hughes said.

Reedom is wanted for first degree murder, four counts attempted second degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

ORIGINAL: NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) – A shooting in New Iberia leaves a man in critical condition.

According to New Iberia Police, officers responded to a crash at around 9:30 Tuesday night on Iberia St. and Ambassador West Lemelle St. On arrival, they found a male victim who was shot in the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He is still in critical condition.
