NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Essence Festival of Culture has released its star-studded lineup of the annual affair, taking place from July 4 to 7.

While the major headliners of Janet Jackson, Usher and the Cash Money Millionaires have been announced for a few weeks now, the fest has now named the dates that artists will perform in the Superdome.

According to Vice President Hakeem Holmes, the festival has made a concerted effort to align the affair with the City of New Orleans.

“It is by design. It’s about sort of going back and looking forward. And so me being here from New Orleans, being really intentional about being here on the ground and pulling in community organizations and doing a listening tour about things and ways that we can change,” said Holmes.

According to Holmes, the E360 app is also critical to keeping you informed during the festival.

“It’s telling you what’s happening when it’s also going to be mapping you directly to your destination. So there are places, vendors and things that you’re looking for in the convention center. That is the app to go to.”
