NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The New Orleans music community is rallying around longtime photographer Pat Jolly.
Jolly has been a mainstay on the local music and culture scene for decades, chronically the celebrations, jazz funerals, and parades that take to the streets of New Orleans on an almost daily basis.
Faced with a skyrocketing tax bill, the 70-year-old Jolly is in danger of losing the home she inherited from her mother three years ago.
Musicians ranging from Irma Thomas to James Andrews, Deacon John, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Kermit Ruffins and Steve Masakowski recently gathered for a “Fun-Raiser” at the Irish House on St. Charles Avenue to raise money for Jolly.
The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation and John Autin & Rabadash Records are major contributors to the fund.
A Facebook fundraising account has also been set up to help pay her back taxes so she can keep her home.
