New Orleans (WGNO)–NOPD Police Chief Michael Harrison wants to keep the lines of communication open between his officers and the people they serve.

This is part of that effort.

It was a public forum at the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church.

The Chief and other officers answered questions and talked about how police interact with the public.

The forum follows a series of high profile shootings around the country involving police as well as the protests those shootings sparked.

Chief Harrison said,  “With the climate in America, with how people are showing their frustrations with police, we’re not seeing that in New Orleans because we’re engaged, we stay engaged, we want to be engaged. This is just another continuation of our engagement with the community.”

There’s no word on when the next forum will take place.
