NOPD officer’s home burglarized, gun & taser stolen

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans police say someone broke into an officer’s home and stole his service pistol and taser.

Police say the burglary happened between July 22-25 while the officer was on vacation. The department did not reveal the address of the crime but said it happened in Algiers.

The pistol stolen is a Glock model 22 .40 caliber. The taser is a model X26P. Two fully loaded magazines for the pistol and cartridges for the taser were also stolen. Serial number information on the stolen weapons can be seen in the photo above.

Police say the stolen weapons present a safety issue for the general public as well as police.
