METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) – U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise has easily been re-elected to Congress.
Scalise, a Metairie Republican and one of the highest ranking members in the U.S. House of Representatives, began his victory speech about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at Drago’s Empire Room in Metairie. Only 65 percent of precincts had been reported when he began his speech, but he had 76 percent of the vote and the Associated Press called the race for Scalise.
His opponents were Lee Ann Dugas, Daniel Ezekiel Faust, Joseph “Joe” Swider, Howard Kearney, Eliot Barron and Chuemai Yang.
