NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Progressive Insurance Company is donating more than 100 vehicles to military veterans across the nation in recognition of Veterans Day 2016.

Two local veterans and their families will be honored today at the Progressive Metairie Service Center, one of the 63 locations participating in Progressive’s annual Keys to Progress event, which provides direct assistance to veterans and their families to provide reliable transportation so they can get back on the road faster and move forward in life.

The donated vehicles were refurbished by Kev’s Kars and Gerber Collision and Glass.

Several organizations are teaming up with Progressive to make Keys to Progress a reality, including the National Auto Body Council and its body shop members, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Veracity Research Co. Investigations, Copart, Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc., and 1-800-Charity Cars.

More than 300 vehicles have been donated to military families and organizations through the Keys to Progress program, not counting this year’s donations.
