CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO)- Today at the Chalmette National Cemetery they held a special ceremony to honor those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice and paid the ultimate price.
With bagpipes, flowers, flags, and salutes we saluted our fallen soldiers.
They honored Vietnam Veterans by reading their names and ringing a bell for each fallen soldier.
Veterans who made it home safely were there and want to make sure that the true meaning of Memorial Day is remembered.
“It is a reminder of something that people should do, which is honor those who fought for our country. We must honor our fallen comrades and I hope that nobody forgets that,” Vietnam Veteran, James Grose said.
