Teddy Bear Tea returns to Roosevelt Hotel with special surprise for local children

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WGNO) — A holiday tradition is returning to New Orleans’ iconic Roosevelt Hotel!

Starting the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and running through Christmas Eve, the hotel will be hosting the Teddy Bear Tea.

This year’s theme is “Rooftop at the Roosevelt!”

Children who attend are greeted by a trumpeter, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph and all his helpers.

The kids nibble on cookies and milk, while parents sip champagne and tea.

They even get to meet Santa and take home a collectible teddy bear.

Earl Lizana explains, “There’s a tradition of families coming to teddy bear tea every year, year after year.  We see them well into their teens. So it really is an experience for the families.”

This year, the Roosevelt and WGNO are teaming up to treat some very special children in our community.

We’ll be hosting a group of foster children from CASA Jefferson to a VIP experience at the Teddy Bear Tea!

If you’d like to check out the event for yourself, tickets are still available.
