Friday afternoon, the wife of St Bernard Parish President David Peralta filed for a restraining order.
In the documents, Sharon Peralta says she was slapped, shoved, stalked, and threatened by her husband.
Last October, Louisiana State Police confirmed they were investigating David Peralta on a sexual assault allegation. That investigation is complete and now in the hands of the St Bernard District Attorney’s office for review.
Also in Sharon Peralta’s court filings, she details the alleged attack. A judge granted a temporary restraining order through February 5th.
Documents also show that Sharon Peralta is requesting police accompany her to remove her belongings from the couple’s home in Meraux. She filed the paperwork in Orleans Parish where she now says she lives.
The St Bernard Sheriff’s Office says it has no recollection of any other domestic issues involving the Peraltas. Even the court documents filed Friday say David Peralta has no history of violence or drug or alcohol abuse.
Also, David Peralta has not been charged with any crime in the case. Attempts to reach him at his home and office Friday were unsuccessful.
