‘Contact 911’: Missouri woman writes message for help on package

ROBERTSVILLE, Mo. – “Contact 911” was the message a delivery driver noticed on a package he received from a Missouri woman Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The driver contacted police after the woman handed him the parcel around 11:20 a.m. as he was doing his rounds near the 6000 block of Willow Ford Road in Franklin County.

Deputies spoke with a woman who lives at the address the package came from and learned that a 33-year-old Robertsville man at the home had previous arrests, including assault. As she was speaking with deputies, a man shut the front door and refused to cooperate.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s office says the man was possibly armed with a .45 caliber handgun and had access to rifles. The SWAT team was activated because the man was not cooperating with law enforcement and there was a toddler in the home.

The man surrendered to police before the Franklin County SWAT team arrived at the home. He was taken into custody without further incident. The toddler was located inside the home, unharmed.

Police did not specify what the suspect may be charged with, but confirmed that he was still in custody Tuesday night.
