(WGNO) — Just in time for Halloween, a new survey of what Americans fear most has been released.
The survey was done in April 2015 by Chapman University. A random group of 1,541 adults from across the country were asked about their fear of 88 different things.
Topics included crime, the government, personal anxieties, and many others. Those topics were called “fear domains,” with individual fears such as corruption, terrorism, and identity theft falling into different categories.
Participants ranked their level of fear from a 1 for not afraid to 4 for very afraid.
The top 10 fears are based on the highest percentage of those surveyed reporting being “afraid” or “very afraid.”
